It's no secret that the schedule that general surgery residents keep is nutty. You get four days off a month, and that doesn't always fall on weekends. Long days and nights meant we needed to really make the most of our time with Daddy. Occasionally he would have a bit of time on a Sunday afternoon for a little picnic outside the hospital. It helped break up the week a bit for Trent and I and the kids really loved it.
