Gaby Visits and The 4th of July!

Sometimes you just really need a visit from a good, lifelong friend. Gaby came from New York to visit us in Kentucky in July. It was so very good to see her. We have always been able to just pick up right where we left off with the greatest familiarity. Such a gift to have a friend like that.

We had so much fun chatting for hours and enjoyed showing her around Kentucky. We loved showing her horse country and the beauties around our house.

She was here over the 4th of July which made it really festive, especially since Trent was working that day. We headed down to the Wilmore Parade first thing that morning, It was such a fun, small town parade and the weather was mild and not too hot. We walked to the park after the parade for hot dogs and watermelon and then went home for naps and to get ready for a little barbeque.

The kids enjoyed making this cake. Heidi decorated the cake, Nathan made the paper flags, and Matthew sang "God Bless America" as much as he could!

Trent got off work in time to enjoy dinner and sparklers that night. Our neighbors put on a REAL firework show. It was nice not to have to battle traffic down town and still get to see some big fireworks.

We were so grateful for Gaby's visit and can't wait to see her again!
