Thanksgiving Week

Trent had a whole week off of school for Thanksgiving. Hooray! We had so much fun relaxing as a family and with friends. We started the week off with a day trip to a park on the other side of the valley. The weather was perfect for a day in the sun. The park had huge playgrounds, a splash pad, duck ponds, a mini train, and these little quarter rides:
The train wasn't up and running that day but these two kids didn't mind a bit. These little rides might have been just as exciting as Disneyland for them. I LOVE the above picture with Dylon "driving" Heidi around. They were both very pleased with the set up.
And loved the little carousel.
Next in the week was our "Pie Night". We invited several friends over on Tuesday night for soup and pie. Trent and I had stayed up until 2 AM the night before having a big baking fest. It resulted in this:
7 pies and 2 flavors of homemade ice cream.
Then all our company brought their favorite pies. We had quite the delicous assortment of goodies and enjoyed wonderful company. Very fun evening.
For the actual Turkey Day we went over to the Gentry's home. It was so nice share the holiday with their family and turned out to be a great afternoon and evening.
Nathan playing with his little girlfriend, Malia.

We all made TONS of food. For just two small families we had more than enough. In fact, enough for leftovers for a week!

Cute Heidi and Dylon playing a Thanksgiving game while Dwayne told the story of the first Thanksgiving:

All in all, it was a fantastic Thanksgiving! We have so many reasons to celebrate our gratitude and thankfulness. We really feel so richly blessed.

Looks like you guys had so much fun! I'm sad we missed that park activity. Maybe we can try again another time before it gets hot.

Your pies look fantastic. My sisters-in-law are better at making pies than I am. Well, turkey day looked like it was delicious.

Your pies do look great! I'm curious about the green ice-cream? Is that mint? That looked yummy too.
