Halloween

Halloween was very celebrated amongst our family members this year! The kids are getting old enough to anticipate traditions and that makes things very fun. They each enjoyed a party at school and even got to wear their costumes. And of course we had the ward trunk or treat. And by the time the real Halloween rolled around we were so celebrated we almost forgot it hadn't come and gone yet!

As it turns out, we had a severe weather warning on the evening of October 31st so Mr. Mayor took matters in his own hands and postponed Halloween trick or treating until the evening of November 1st. I didn't know that you could just up and move Halloween but he did and it was quite nice not to have to wonder if it was safe enough to take the munchkins out. On Halloween proper we enjoyed making homemade pizza and carving our jack 'o lanterns. Which was extra special this year because we grew them ourselves!

And then on November 1st we went out trick or treating to a few neighbors in our culdesac. These are the things childhood memories are made of!

My ADORABLE little chick. All three of the kids have sported this costume for their first Halloween.

My brave and stalwart soldier!

My sweet and sassy cowgirl!
