The long awaited day arrived! The post office called early one morning to say "you have chicks to pick up!" So fun to hear little babies cheeping in the background. The kids were BEYOND excited.
Can you believe 16 baby chick fit in that little box?
We were so happy to find that they had all survived being shipped through the mail. We split an order with some friends, leaving us with 9 chicks.
The kids loved getting acquainted with their new pets. Such cute little balls of fluff!
We kept them in a little cardboard enclosure in the garage until they started to try to fly out and escape. Then we moved the little gals to their big new coop, still in the garage. They loved having space to run around.
Awkward adolescence...
And now looking beautifully feathered!
