The changing of seasons is magical in Kentucky. And while Labor Day generally feels very much like summer still, it signals the coming of one of my favorite seasons--FALL.
A misty Labor Day morning on Atwood Drive. I really love our little tree-covered street.
We have enjoyed our annual trip to Reed Valley Orchard each Labor Day to pick apples. They sell their apples at half price that day and it's been really fun to venture out to the country for some fun and to stock up on their delicious apples.
The kids really look forward to the whole experience and didn't even complain about the warm, muggy weather. We had fun visiting the country store afterwards and getting these little personal sized cider jugs.
And then the next part of the fun comes with processing them at home. Peeling, slicing, seasoning and putting them in the freezer. The whole process has become more enjoyable and faster as the kids have grown up and are now able to do quite a bit of the work.
Love these family times and traditions.
