All for a cheeseburger!

Last week a great local eatery, Joe's Farm Grill, had their annual Free Cheeseburger Day. On this select November day, the grill serves everyone who stands in line a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. This isn't just any burger...it's serious deliciousness. Joe's prides themselves in growing much of their own food and what they don't grow they get from local farmers.

This picture is of Joe himself. He was greeting everyone at the door. After waiting in line for 2 hours for a burger we were sure glad to see him! Waiting in line was actually kinda festive. It was a gorgeous night and the practically the whole town was there! By the time we got in line there had already been 3,000 burgers served! And 2,000 more were in the works. This is serious business. Luckily, our good friends the Gentry's also stood in line with us for part of the time and that made for enjoyable chatting to pass the time.

When we finally got our coveted cheeseburgers we sat down on a picnic table right by this sign. All part of the AZ experience!
Heidi was pretty thrilled with the whole event:

Don't worry, even the news trucks were there!

Well, that's a fun family outing! They - and the weather - must have been good to be worth that ;)

I am so excited about this! Guy Fieri visited there on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and I have a lot of respect for that place. :)
And these pictures are wonderful. What happy faces! Yayz!

How fun!! What a great tradition. In Vermont Ben and Jerry's ice cream had free cone day once a year and me and the girls always looked forward to that!!
