Project: Applesauce

A couple weeks ago Trent had a whole Friday off of school. We decided to engage in a big applesauce project. We turned 3 bushel boxes of apples into 31 quarts of applesauce, carmel apples and a few gallons of pie filling. It was an all day project and took us about 10 hours from start to finish but we felt so satisfied at the end! We have never really done a project like this together in our married life and we both decided it was a great thing to do.
Here we are in the thick of things:
Luckily we borrowed the big pots, camping stove, and applesauce maker from a neighbor.
It ended up being a great set up.

Our GREAT neighbor Jen came over to watch our "applesauce factory" and ended up being some valuable entertainment for our kids!

Okay. First things first. How cute are you to feel like your bishop's office was a date! Second...you are quite the impressive team...with 2 kids 2 & under behind the scenes! Love the picture of the final product! Third, CONGRATS to Randy & Barb! How long is their mission? So happy for them!

There is a scene in the movie Baby Boom that would relate to this. Basically, she goes nuts in the Vermont winter and fills every cupboard with jarred apple sauce. Since your winters are nothing to that of Vermont's, I'm sure your motivations were different.
