Heidi

A few things I want to remember about Heidi at 4.5:

Heidi is full of personality and growing and maturing so much lately.
She never tires of posing for the camera. I needed pictures to add to our About Me books we made for preschool and wanted a simple head shot of her. This is what she came up with:

Silly girl.

Her hair is getting much longer the last few months, but remaining very curly. She is tickled that it is finally seeming so long and I'm happy that she is taking it as proof that eating lots of fruits and vegetables really does make your hair grow.

She loves playing with friends. It is especially fun for her if her friends easily get absorbed in make-believe. She can play in a make-believe princess, mommy-baby world for a very long time. Thankfully, her little brother is one of her very best friend and plays right along with the make-believe world. She adores him. She is often quite motherly towards him. Today, as we started potty training, she was so excited for him and kept telling him how proud she was of him. At one point Nathan was kind of quiet and she asked him, "Are you worried about wearing underwear?" She is usually quite concerned about how he is feeling about life. Coincidentally, he wasn't at all worried about the underpants, just absorbed in the movie he was watching!
Instead of doing a dance class this semester she just started a Let's Play Music class and is thoroughly enjoying it. She is singing the songs non-stop and the CD is starting to seem like the soundtrack to my life because we listen to it so often! .

She will often become attached to a few special toys for a few days or weeks. This lamb is one of this week's favorite friends. She made sure to accessorize it before putting it to bed.

Another special item of the week:

Tonight for family home evening we discussed tithing and did lots of counting from the piggy banks.
This is how we found Heidi tonight:

She had been brushing her glass piggy bank's "hair" and just got too tired to take it any more.

Things Heidi LOVES at 4.5- princesses (still), her fish, pink, purple, yellow, special pink blankie, singing, coloring & writing, dancing, cantaloupe, oatmeal, quesdillas, going to the library, riding her bike.

Love that sweet depiction of helping Nathan identify feelings--especially when he was just busy minding his own business! Love that sweet little personality--thanks for the vivid descriptions.
