A Winter Storm and Some Visitors

Early March also brought some intense winter weather. We got two back-to-back large snowstorms with upwards of 1.5 feet of snow. That amount of snow paralyzes this city. We were home bound for nearly a week each time. The first was when Thomas was just 3 weeks old and Christine and I spent almost a week here in the house not able to go anywhere. I was so grateful she was visiting or I may have gone batty! It was nice to have company and help as well as cousin play time for the kids

Kentucky is BEAUTIFUL in the snow!

The kids were very diligent in clearing off lots and lots of snow from the driveway. Daddy promised them that he would help them dig a snow cave so they piled all the snow from the driveway in one large mound.

True to his word, they got a snow cave. This is looking inside the cave. They all ate dinner in there one night.

Little people in a big snow cave!

It was so fun to watch Sam and Matthew start to really interact and play.

Sam and Nathan. It was soo cold so even bundled up they didn't last too long outside.

A few weeks later, and in the middle of another massive storm, Lisa and Chloe miraculously arrived. I thought for sure their flight would be cancelled and even the thought of that was too disappointing to think about. I was so relieved that their flight actually made it. And thanks to the neighbors digging our stuck van out of the snow and ice, Trent was able to retrieve them from the airport. Lisa and Chloe had never been here and it was so fun to show them our life here in Kentucky. And of course to have them meet sweet Thomas. They came during a pretty busy time for Trent and it was SO helpful to have an extra couple sets of hands and company around the house.  There is nothing like sister time.

They were amazing at being able to help me keep things afloat with the kids and baby Thomas. They even pulled off throwing Heidi a wonderful 8th birthday party.
So grateful for family.
