My first baby is 8 years old! She has been so excited for this big birthday to arrive.
This was a year for a friend birthday party, which only added to the excitement. My sister and niece were visiting the week before her birthday and so we decided to throw her party while they were there. My hands were still feeling quite full with a newborn and my niece is a awesome party planner so it was a good combination.
Daddy made this gorgeous cake. It was pink and sparkly and everything is should be when you are 8!
They made pink gumball necklaces.

On Heidi's actual birthday we had a little family party.
We got her a set of scriptures with her name engraved on the front. I was SO excited for her to get them and she was thrilled when she opened them. She read the whole Book of Mormon and got a good start on the New Testament before her 8th birthday. I'm so proud of her efforts to nourish her growing testimony.
A special card Nathan had made for her.
She was very surprised to open up a beautiful dress to wear on her baptism day!

At 8 you:
- love to read. Favorites include Boxcar Children and Mandy series.
- love school. You are really independent and quick about getting your school work done. And you have had a great year at school and matured in many ways.
- are very creative. You enjoy craft and sewing projects.
- are a great older sister.
-love having a new baby brother. You are such a big help to mommy.
- are concerned about being prompt and on time. You dislike being late to anything!
- have a lovely singing voice and learned to harmonize all on your own.
