We have been anxious to make a trip down to Atlanta for a while now. Trent's parents are down there temporarily for work and the Snyders (Trent's cousin and fam) live there and we've been hoping for a weekend to make it possible. Trent had a long weekend over President's Day and we hopped in the car and took advantage of the chance.
Can you tell Heidi was happy about a road trip??
The kids did a good job packing the day before and Heidi made sure her doll Meredith was all ready to go.
My little cool dude traveler all set to go.
Yes, Matthew is brushing his teeth :) He did really well on the drive to and from. He slept hardly AT ALL but was happy most of the time so I don't feel like I can complain much.
Heidi and Nathan were really excited to see these cousins again. Nobody was shy and just jumped right in and started playing. Nathan and Drennan share a love of tools!
And Heidi and Breelyn seemed to both enjoy dressing up together.
Friday night Grammy and Grandpa Chuck joined us at the Snyders for a Valentine's dinner and it was so fun to just be together and visit.
On Saturday we went with Grammy and Grandpa to a circus across town. It was the kids first time watching a circus and they loved watching the tricks!
These acrobats were amazing!
I wondered how Matthew would like things and he surprised me and sat mesmerized through the whole thing.
Afterwards we headed into downtown Atlanta to visit the Legoland Discovery Center.
Here Nathan rotates this mixer showing how they mix the plastic beads that then turn into Legos.
They had built a mini model of the city out of Legos. It was pretty neat!
Lots of building stations throughout!
They had several life-size items created out of Legos, including this little motorcycle that the kids enjoyed hopping on.
After a fun-filled day we headed back to the Snyders for delicious pizza.
Grandpa Chuck surprised the kids with a Lego gift and this picture tells how Nathan felt about that-
Thank you Snyders for your wonderful hosting of our family! It was so very fun to be together. And thank you Grammy and Grandpa for a wonderful, quick tour of your "home".
