Update from the Land of the Sun.

We've had an eventful week. The beginning of the week was marked by a very exciting and monumental milestone: Trent has officially completed his first year of dental school. YAY! He has worked hard and done very well and I'm very proud to brag for him. He is deserving of the success he has had this year. Class finishing may just be a false sense of relief, however, as he is now studying for his board exam that he will take in about a month. Even if he is studying, he is home a lot more and we like that.
In other Trent news, he recieved an early Father's Day present via the FedEx man this week.
He is now the proud pilot of this little radio-controlled airplane. True excitement! As a family we took it out for it's maiden flight this week. We thought we'd just do it on our neighborhood soccer field. Alls well that ends well but I was a little nervous mid-way through! Those little planes get going pretty fast!
Let's just say the kids and I ran for cover under the picnic ramada. We decided to try for somewhere without houses so close for the remainder of the training flights.

Later in the week we were able to spend a whole day with the Harmon's. It was a lot of fun to go have a tour of the house where Trent grew up. Very fun to see the place where lots of family memories were made. Later that evening we went to the Baxter's for a fun pool party/BBQ night!

Trent lived here until 4th grade.

We officially switched the crib to Nathan's territory this week. Even though Heidi has now been in her big girl bed for several weeks, I was a bit nervous with how she might react to the switch. She was quite thrilled, in fact! She was kind enough to let Nathan have her baby doll in the crib for awhile:

Because she needed to keep a close eye on what was going on she ran to get her stool from the bathroom. It wasn't quite high enough for her to get in on the action. She solved that problem by quickly retrieving a package of diapers and put them on top of her stool for some added height:

On Thursday, my oldest sister, Amy, and her four kids drove down from Utah for a visit. It was soooo fun to have them at our home. Heidi was completely thrilled to have some cousins as visitors. It was a very quick visit but we made sure to enjoy every minute. We all went to a movie in the morning, had a tour of Trent's school, enjoyed some swimming, and made pizza that night. The next morning they were off to the Grand Canyon. Thanks for the visit Muhl's!!!

It was fun having you guys for the day on Wednesday. It sounds like your week ended up like ours. I love how Heidi had to observe the baby brother and baby doll situation. Little kids minds are amazing at solutions to their problems.
