Scenes from the Weekend

General Conference has come and gone. My cup is full and I feel so uplifted, inspired, and called to action and improvement. I'm so grateful for the guidance of our leaders in a turbulent world!

And I love the chance to draw my family close and slow down for an entire weekend together. Bliss. Heidi was really interested in the whole concept of the prophet and apostles this time. And once engaged in this fun game that Trent came up with she sat for a whole session (2 hours) and listened intently. Trent put pictures representing different "gospel" words on different colors of Fruit Loops. As she heard a word she added it to a string of yarn. You'll catch her super long necklace in a photo below. Nathan enjoyed making a necklace too...just not quite as long!

In between sessions we went on a drive to ease any restlessness of being in the house all day. We decided to drive past the site for the Gilbert Temple that is currently under construction. It is mostly just dirt and construction equipment still but we just loved imagining what is to come.

This dedicated spot of land is definitely a holy place and you can feel it when you pull up to the site. We are REALLY hoping we get to see it before we move away!

What a great weekend.

Ahem, what is this "before we move away?" business? Maybe you should edit your post and say, "we can't wait to frequent this temple every week once it's built since we will be living in Gilbert forever and ever."
