Nine Months

Matthew turned 9 months the week before Thanksgiving. 

Some favorites right now:

Opening the mailbox! Do you see his face in this picture? He just focuses so much and loves to do it over and over again. When we get close to the mailbox he gets so excited.

This month solid foods finally started getting more popular. I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever branch out and be nursing forever. Between mid-November to mid-December he went from eating very little solids to have 2-3 meals each day! Hooray! He is still not a fan of anything pureed but loves to eat little bits of food he can pick up with his fingers.

This month was also eventful in the sleep department. Naps and bedtime battles have largely subsided and he goes to sleep on his own peacefully and willingly. I have  a quiet cuddle time while we nurse, maybe sing a song or two and then put him in his crib and he puts himself to sleep, rarely putting up a fuss. Now if we can just get him sleeping through the night will be in business. 

He checked out great at his 9 month well-baby check. 22 pounds puts him around the 80th percentile for weight. He continues to maintain his spot at the top of the chart for height! Big boy.
